Guests' Reviews for Le Mura Villa Tuscany Vacation Rental Villa/Farmhouse
“whenever we speak of The Garden of Eden, perhaps part of it is still here. Thank you for your hospitality. The American.
I just wanted to let you know what a lovely time we had at Le Mura over the past couple of weeks- it was a great house for a family get together, in a stunning setting (thank you also for the most spectacular thunderstorm any of us had ever witnessed!) and we all had plenty of room! Little Jimmy particularly liked playing with all the toys- Kate UK and Australia
All together we want to say you: thank you! It was a wonderful time in your fantastic house Le Mura. We never will forget these three weeks, together with our whole family. M. Norway
We have spoken with some of our friends and collegues about your wonderful house, and I wouldn't be astonished if you would get more Mails for leasing your house next year. Andreas Germany
We had a lovely holiday and we all agreed that our special meal was one of the high points. Pauline, UK
We really enjoyed the house and your hospitality. Thanks for it all. Bjarne, Denmark
We have just come back from our fourth holiday at Le Mura. We keep returning to this house with family and friends. The house is perfectly situated for sightseeing - but often we just relax there - the pool must have one of the best views in Tuscany, and there are many good local walks. Eating on the terrace is a delight and a birthday meal cooked for us there, sampling the local village recipes, was a highlight this year. The short walk to Benabbio village is a delight and the restaurant run by a friendly family. The house is very spacious and the toys, books and Wendy house enjoyed by the children. We all became very competitive on the boules pitch. Celia, Enzo and the team keep the house beautifully and run to a very high standard. They are always most helpful and Enzo's knowledge of local history has helped us discover the local secrets. This beautiful much-loved family house retains its original character but is made comfortable with simplicity and taste and never fails to delight us even on a winter visit when we had our meals around the large farmhouse table by the wood fire. D., London
The house is beautiful - stone-built and unspoilt by restoration, with large, beamed rooms and a traditional kitchen.
The views, over the deep valley and tumbling river, are exquisite. Benabbio - a short walk from the house along a country road - is typical. It has a delightful church in a tiny piazza, with a fine triptych in its original frame by some forgotten master.
We visited both Lucca and Pisa - charming towns, rich in art, beautiful buildings and historical associations - on leisurely day trips.
But much of the time we simply sat by the pool, enjoying the views and local wine, and wandering the grounds with their olive trees, orchard and grassy slopes. The owners - Celia and Enzo - had everything prepared for us in advance, welcomed us on arrival and offered us their assistance. It was memorable week and we look forward to returning next year. One of the best holiday rental houses of the last 20 years. Hirner, Bonn
We've just got back from a lovely stay at Le Mura. The villa is huge and well arranged - we were a party of 4 adults and 4 children and there was loads of room for all of us. The house has been beautifully restored - it has all mod cons but also lots of character and original features, from its 400 year history. The owners, Celia and Enzo are very friendly and happy to help. The gardens are great for kids - there's a swing, wendy house, hammock and pool to keep children of all ages busy. But most remarkable of all are the views - the villa is perched on a hill and has the most incredible vistas over Bagni di Lucca and the surrounding valleys: the view from the master bedroom is particularly breathtaking. we'd definitely recommend a stay here. Above the clouds at Le Mura. We booked Le Mura for the last week in October to celebrate a 50th birthday. It was magical - it is high up in the hills and we awoke each morning above the clouds with the sun shining brightly while the town below lay in the mist. We built log fires each evening to heat the house which added to the fun and sat around the huge kitchen table to share family meals. Le Mura is within easy reach of the beautiful beach at Viareggio, Florence and the lovely walled town of Lucca and an easy drive from Pisa (once you've learned to read Italian road signs!). Celia and Enzo were the perfect hosts and we couldn't have wished for a more relaxing holiday than a week at Le Mura. Wendy Jane, Southampton, England
